During the pandemic, with travel plans cancelled, I planned imaginary trips. I started this painting as a tribute to those places I couldn't quite reach.
I absorbed into my painting the sudden peace and quiet of our local area. The creative energy and emotion I felt comes through in the gestural brushstrokes and layering of colour.
